Abstract International trade fairs are events that take place periodically around the world, in different places and generally on an annual basis. Innovation is an aspect of utmost importance in companies wishing to hold sustainable competitive advantages in their different forms, such as business, technology, marketing and socio-cultural aspects. In Bolivia there are some international fairs, in which producís / services of local, regional and international companies are offered. In the present investigation the international fairs are discussed and the ones that are carried out in Bolivia are named, so that the fairs and their function as a source of business innovation are analyzed. The author believes that the main function of a fair is to present innovations, that is, new ways of satisfying the same needs.
