Abstract The research has the objective of identifying the factors that influence the university dropout of the students of the Universidad Mayor, Real y Pontificia de San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca; The research is of applied, quantitative, descriptive, quasi-experimental type. It seeks to better understand the student dropout from the analysis of structural equations, supported by the SmartPLS software version 3. The reference population for the study are the total number of students enrolled at the beginning of the 2018 management, a random probabilistic sample was made for a finite population known to 97% confidence and 3% error, with a total of 2,216 students surveyed (female 1,079, male 1,137). The analysis by means of structural equations determined that the Economic and Family factors have the greatest influence on the university dropout. Additionally, there are other factors such as Motivational, Health, Social and Academic that have a greater influence. Based on the results, it is recommended to carry out complementary investigations of each factor individually, in order to identify the generating causes of the variables that explain each factor.
