The document shows in a general way the behavior of FDI in the world and particularly in Latin America in 2016, it is divided into four sections. In the first, On the opportunities of the FDI, stand out from the glance of the main international organisms the opportunities and kindness that the FDI offers like catalyzer of the economic growth; in the second section, World Overview, the main recipients of FDI in the world system are distinguished and the trends of foreign capital flows in the world economy and their correspondence with the economic cycle are reported; The following section, Regional Overview, briefly presents the main characteristics of FDI in Latin American countries, where the fall in international prices of natural resources affects investments in the region; Finally, the Final Reflections are presented.
