Abstract Mining generates environmental and social impacts no matter where it occurs. In the past, mines were generally not closed and only abandoned, generating so-called mining environmental liabilities (PAMs). In the Community of Condoraque is the Palca XI mine, an important producer of tungsten in the past, in the area there are important PAMs that constitute a permanent and potential risk for people, the environment and the economic activities of the community. The objective of the project was the simplified assessment of contamination risks using the methodology proposed by Golder Associates. Seven PAMs were identified. The results indicate that the drainage that flows from the San Marcelo ramp and its infiltration into the water table has high probability of occurrence indices, but its consequences are: The tailings deposit and the waste dump have a medium probability of occurrence index with low consequences for people, the environment and economic activities; The wetlands have negative impacts of acid effluents that have flowed into them from the Choquene lagoon; The infrastructure remains have low occurrence and consequences, in some cases negligible. Finally, a detailed risk assessment is recommended with respect to people, wetlands, terrestrial and aquatic fauna, and livestock activity in the area.
