Resumen

PARI MACHACA, Natty Marianela  y  DEL CASTILLO GUTIERREZ, Carmen Rosa. The integration of COIL (collaborative international online learning) in the classroom, an experience with students of economics - Universidad Católica Boliviana. Edu. Sup. Rev. Cient. Cepies [online]. 2024, vol.11, n.3, pp.127-138. ISSN 2518-8283.  https://doi.org/10.53287/zqit5638dd36h.

At present, developing global competences by promoting international cooperation and intercultural learning is crucial in the learning teaching process and for this the COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) approach has become an important tool for connecting students and teachers from different cultural contexts, despite the importance, not all universities develop it, especially in the Bolivian case, this due to several factors, the lack of specialized personnel to support the development of the activity, the equipment and availability of adequate logistics and the will of potential participants.

This analysis will present an example of COIL work carried out between the Universidad Católica Boliviana (UCB) and the University of Lima, mainly presenting the experiences of the UCB. The collaborative work consisted mainly of students' work in the subject of "general economics" at UCB and the subject of microeconomics at the University of Lima. The main objective was to carry out research on specific subjects common to both classes. The groups' work was concretised with the production and presentation of short videos in an asynchronous way in their respective classes.

Participants conducted research on economic issues, developing not only academic knowledge but also communication skills with intercultural learning with empathy and responsibility. By making visible and analyzing this experience of COIL, we seek to inspire other academic institutions to carry it out, adapting it to their specific contexts, contributing to continuous improvements based on experience.

Palabras clave : International cooperation; COIL methodology; collaborative work.
