Resumen

CLAVIJO MONTESINOS, Rossio Angélica. Resilience mechanisms as an alternative to low tolerance towards frustration in first and second year students of social communication UMSA. Edu. Sup. Rev. Cient. Cepies [online]. 2023, vol.10, n.3, pp.93-102. ISSN 2518-8283.  https://doi.org/10.53287/ycfg8792vq52j.

The Covid 19 pandemic had a significant impact on the way the teaching-learning process is contrasted in all educational contexts. The present study began shortly before the global catastrophe; At that time, it was already observed that young students of Social Communication at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés showed a low tolerance towards frustration. This behavior, in turn, was expressed in poor academic performance, frequent absences from classes, unsatisfactory grades, demotivation, postponements and dropouts. The objectives of the study were to know the psychographic profiles of these students, the factors related to intolerance, and finally make a proposal viable for the problem (this is where the point of resilience as an alternative arises). The data obtained in the first semester of this year (first and second year students of the Social Communication Sciences degree) show that, at the UMSA, where the studies were carried out, a determining factor is the resilience of University students, who despite having a precarious economic situation, health problems, situations of abuse and violence, among others, seek to achieve their objectives and complete their studies satisfactorily.

Palabras clave : Keywords: Resilience; intolerance; frustration; teaching-learning.
