The article explores the influence of Information and Communication Technologies on scientific research and innovation in higher education institutions. ICTs have revolutionized the way information is accessed, shared and analyzed, fostering interdisciplinary approaches and transforming education. In addition, it highlights how ICT-based solutions have an impact on society, addressing challenges and promoting cultural change through collaboration between researchers, democratizing knowledge and strengthening the relationship between science and the outside world. The article underlines the symbiotic relationship between science and technology in solving complex problems, mainly considering the challenges of the reliability of online information and ethical challenges. Research integrity is threatened by the proliferation of misinformation and plagiarism practices. Data management and equal access to ICTs are important concerns. Training and digital literacy become essential to fully exploit the potential of ICT. This research presents as a scientific contribution, an analysis that addresses how ICTs have influenced the creation and dissemination of knowledge, the structure of society and accelerated scientific innovation, promoting interdisciplinary approaches and transforming higher education. In this way, the article highlights the interconnection of researchers and the exchange of ideas through digital platforms, highlighting how ICT-based scientific solutions have impacted industries, global challenges, and quality of life.
