BARRIOS RADA, Carmen Rosa. Attitudinal study of gender equality: analysis of specific categories in the university setting. Edu. Sup. Rev. Cient. Cepies [online]. 2021, vol.8, n.2, pp.17-26. ISSN 2518-8283.

Abstract The objective of the research was to identify attitudes on gender equality in specific categories: sexual orientation, religious symbolism, values and couple structure, private sphere, public sphere and sexuality-freedom and to analyze them in their categories and links. For this purpose, the Gender Equality Attitudes Questionnaire (CAIG) was applied, with a Likert scale; the sample was non-probabilistic with 197 female students of second and third year, in the Social Work Career in the 2021 administration, of the Public University of El Alto. A neutral attitude was found towards four categories: Sexual orientation, Sexuality-freedom, Values-couple structure, and Religious symbolism. There are no defined positions with respect to these categories; stereotyped attitudes are maintained, for example, on political participation or adoption of children by homosexuals, or sexual freedom of behavior with respect to both genders. Finally, the categories of public and private spheres were clearly recognized as spaces where gender inequality still exists. The research shows that in this millennium the new generations and young women maintain unclear attitudes regarding gender equality, and therefore university spaces should promote proactive attitudes, referring to the construction of a mentality of equity with positive actions for professional practice
