Abstract

ZILVETTY TORRICO, Miguel Angel. The yapuchiri mentor of local bioindicators of the endogenous productive practice and his inclusion in the complex education. Edu. Sup. Rev. Cient. Cepies [online]. 2020, vol.7, n.2, pp.49-60. ISSN 2518-8283.

Abstract The research describes the work of the yapuchiri, that is, the Aymara peasant farmer who possesses local knowledge of agriculture making him a useful person for the community. The yapuchiri demands to be considered in the Bolivian educational system, at the time of having a job with his speciality. The inclusion of the local knowledge in education, contemplated in Law N° 070, Avelino Siñani Elizardo Pérez, demands an approach that operationalizes this process.Complex education could fulfill this purpose, since it must be applied to educational processes where ancestral knowledge is interrelated with scientific knowledge from the use of qualitative methodologies. The object of the study is the yapuchiri, who being an expert of local agricultural bioindicators in endogenous productive practice, is trained and certified by the Ministry of Education to recover his knowledge effectively.Data was collected from three experts and key informants: municipal workers/ officials, in charge of hiring yapuchiris; workers of the Ministry of Education, responsible for the certification and the yapuchiris themselves. The latter mention that they do not have any support from the local governments, since they are not hired either as technicians or as temporary personnel, despite the needs of the municipalities to deal with agricultural production and despite the recognition by the communities for their work. Regarding the inclusion of the yapuchiris´ knowledge in the science and technology system, this process is not yet concrete.

Keywords : Yapuchiri; Ancestral Knowledge; Complex Education.
