NAVIA PEREZ, Jhonny. The educational gap: secondary and university. Edu. Sup. Rev. Cient. Cepies [online]. 2019, vol.6, n.2, pp.25-36. ISSN 2518-8283.
Abstract The study carried out introduces the existing opening or gap between secondary and university education due to the misapplication of the Educational Law 070 by the teacher's duty and vision to prepare well-rounded secondary graduates able to face university challenges. This divide between the statement of holistic objectives and university competencies makes students show limitations at the time of enrolling into university. While in secondary education, the focus is on objectives and their four dimensions, at university students are expected to show abilities, skills and aptitudes to face professional training for a labor market that demands qualified human resources that can take on the task of building a free, sovereign nation, as seen from a national epistemology. This weakness pointed out in the present research should compel profound reflection on the part of educational authorities who demand the presence of ancient knowledge with great emphasis in secondary education, to the detriment of needed orientation towards university competency-based training, which, in the next years until graduation, will be the very master of different university departments, and leave asidethe classroom interaction known as inter-Iearning, which flows from the teacher through the very last future graduate.
