ZILVETTY TORRICO, Miguel Ángel. Degree deficit and its relationship with vocational and professional satisfaction. Edu. Sup. Rev. Cient. Cepies [online]. 2019, vol.6, n.1, pp.51-60. ISSN 2518-8283.

Abstract The present study, based on primary sources, delves into the analysis of vocational and professional satisfaction and its relation to the degree deficit. It is considered that the cycle of vocational guidance is linked to the complementary cycle of vocational and professional satisfaction. In this context, the non-degree of university graduates in the Department of La Paz in a significant number (95% of the university enrollment) may be due to issues of vocation and not exclusively to research methodology issues. The qualified professionals have 76% of professional satisfaction opinions compared to 66% against the graduates. The factor that most influences vocational dissatisfaction is to verify that the chosen career was not what the university student thought at the beginning, that his objective, mission and vision is different from the one dreamed of. This is because the careers have a socio-labor orientation subordinated to the market and not for altruistic or personal fulfillment purposes. The study highlights that people do not necessarily "be born for a career", and that the intention of "placing the most appropriate individual in the most appropriate place" can be a contradiction with the transdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary postulates that aim to overcome the fractionation of knowledge and professions. The contribution of the study lies in evidencing that professional career counseling must be evaluated for the entire cycle, not only for career choice, but until its completion expressed in the degree.

Palabras clave : Vocational orientation; career choice; degree; deficit of degree; vocational satisfaction; professional satisfaction.
