This article reviews and reflects on the urban impact of implementing a tram service in the metropolitan area of Cochabamba. It focuses on examining the urban transformations that occurred during the execution of this new service and the related infrastructure. Its content is relevant because it highlights the limited impact on the spatial configuration of the urban environment in the municipalities of Colcapirhua and Quillacollo, considering the scale of the construction works and the significance of a transportation service of this nature called the "Cochabamba Metropolitan Train." It becomes important as it is the most significant transportation project in the region, conceived without a specific mobility plan, and its construction and implementation are not linked to the urban planning of the mentioned jurisdictions. The current urban and transportation situation appears not to have been affected by this new infrastructure.
