ESCOBAR, Andrés; CABRERA, Juan E. y MENDEZ, Lucas. ALTERNATIVE URBANISMS: AN APPROACH TO THE CITIZEN PRACTICES OF INTERVENTION TO PUBLIC SPACE IN BOLIVIA. Inv. y Des. [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.2, pp.63-94. Epub 30-Dic-2021. ISSN 2518-4431. https://doi.org/10.23881/idupbo.021.2-5e.
From the perspective of the right to the city, this work constitutes a first approach to the practices of alternative urbanism in Bolivia, active since the second decade of the 21st century, critical of traditional urbanism, and promoters of a rapid and effective change in the conditions of the public spaces of many Bolivian cities. The paper is the result of two medium-term research projects that accomplished a record of urban interventions until the year 2020, allowing us to designate the characteristics and impacts of these practices, but mainly to know the collectives of urban planners and activists who have multiplied in recent years and are achieving, with different levels of effectiveness, more actions for change in cities than the State itself.
