CABRERA, Juan E.. THE URBAN, PROPERTY AND LEGISLATIVE PRODUCTION IN BOLIVIA: A READING FROM URBAN LAW. Inv. y Des. [online]. 2018, vol.18, n.2, pp.131-158. ISSN 1814-6333.
This work describes the set of urban-territorial legal instruments, applied at national scale in Bolivia between 1871 and 2016. It focuses on a series of laws organized according to regimes of the Urban Law, under which the treatment of land property rights was established. It first analyses the property rights intervention laws developed between 1930 and 1950 and their unenforceability in the 1960s. Secondly, it draws attention on the reconsideration of this subject between the 1970s and 2000, and on the change of focus in the urban legislation after 1985. This contribution seeks to expand knowledge of urban legislation in Bolivia, as a way to orient future actions and urban policies. It does so by putting into discussion the urban planning legislation and specialized ones, focused on property rights and equity in the redistribution of burdens and benefits of urbanization.
