CECILIA DE MARCO, Myriam Lilian y MEDINA, Orlando Francisco. Control board of a hospital laundry. Oikos Polis [online]. 2022, vol.7, n.1, pp.52-73. ISSN 2521-960X. https://doi.org/1056274/op.2022.v.7n1.3.
Hospital clothing can be a potential source of pathogens and requires proper handling and processing to reduce the risk of transmission of microorganisms, so its treatment deserves special attention.
Hospital laundries must comply with standards that ensure proper handling of contaminated clothing, constituting a very important link within the services.
From the collection of used clothing to its exit from the perfectly clean laundry, great care must be taken in the treatment of each garment, in order to take care of the health of patients and workers, preserve the integrity of the clothing and finally take care of the expense that is produced by having poorly executed processes.
The objective is to achieve the greatest efficiency in this sector in coherence with current regulations.
The purpose is to provide an improvement in the health service in a subject that is little treated but critical in hospital institutions.
