The MFI (Mexican Film Industry) is an economic activity and it´s very important for society, it is a cultural recreational activity that generates jobs and contributes to the development of our country. In 2017, cultural and recreational industries came to mean 3.3% of gross domestic product (GDP) in Mexico (IMCINE, 2017). And government participation contributes positively to the creation and maintenance of the competitive advantage of this industry.
Additionally, it seeks to determine if the government participation in the MFI have actually improved in those aspects that led to its implementation, assessing the results in terms of: number of films produced, jobs created and product positioning.
Consequently, this paper analyzes the importance of government participation in Mexican productions, through incentives and trusts, to contribute to the growth and development of this industry.
