The question about false news or Fake News has become a viral concern in social networks because of the dangers it implies for the diverse social actors. In the face of this, the solutions proposed are varied, some place the focus on media education and others on the role of technology using artificial intelligence to detect this event and discriminate against it, with the limitation that it is not recognized, that this fact is consubstantial to capitalist relations of production. Based on this concern, the purpose of this article is to offer an analysis of the Fake News from the perspective of Political Economy, recognizing that the deepest cause of this is a reflection of the sharpening of the fundamental economic contradiction of this system. For the development of the research, documentary analysis was applied, since the pertinent information is found in reports and articles in different media, which have been analyzed from the perspective of Political Economy, which allowed us to conclude that Fake News are an expression of the ethical dilemmas with which capitalist reality coexists in order to preserve itself as a social system in the face of the real potential for change towards an alternative society to the current one.
