Abstract There is no doubt that discrimination is an issue that can be reflected on from multiple perspectives, its impact on the development of people being an approach that is fundamental within modern societies. Countries must ensure the well-being of their citizens, so addressing potential situations of discrimination should be a priority. However, and in the specific case of discrimination against indigenous people, this discomfort seems to find irrational arguments to continue to take root, both in the actions undertaken by the government and in the imaginary of the rest of the citizenry. Thus, this article aims to reflect on indigenous labor discrimination and the factors that have led to the impossibility of reducing the inequality gap, considering the State's obligation to provide welfare to all its citizens.
