Abstract: The present paper assesses the performance of hotels across the south of Quintana Roo by using environmental social responsibility constructs. The empirical study was conducted using a sample of 90 hotels. The aim of this work was to determine the profile of the characteristics of the environmental practices as well as to stablish a relationship among identified variables. A cross-sectional descriptive methodology was performed using a cluster analysis and a multiple correspondence analysis. Results showed that there is a dependence relationship among analyzed variables. And thus, companies who allocate economical resources to carry out sustainable actions in their annual planning are the ones that tend to perform more environmental programs. Likewise, they are the ones that implement more permanent campaigns of environmental awareness and more waste generated controls. Furthermore, these companies tend to install more efficient and saving devices such as solar heaters, systems of low water consumption (in showers and toilets) and gas-saving equipment, among others.
