LOPEZ-VERA, Juan. The perception of public spaces in Machala: central market case study. Revista de coyuntura y perspectiva [online]. 2022, vol.7, n.2, pp.93-116. ISSN 2415-0622. https://doi.org/1056274/ec.2022.v.7n2.4.
Public spaces are considered an essential element of cities because they allow the creation of identity and culture, as well as reinforce the sense of belonging to the community, one way to study their appropriate use is through urbanization economics. This work adopts a qualitative methodological approach of content, text and conversation analysis, which is developed through the technique of natural language processing. See the news of two years: 2020 and 2021 to evaluate the feelings related to the transfer of the Central Market of Machala by the Urban Regeneration Project. The results show that the concerns of the actors and beneficiaries of the implementation of said market have not been considered, which will have negative repercussions on the conditions of exploitation of public spaces and greater pressure on productive activities in informality and underemployment.
