Abstract
BURGOA TERCEROS, Rodrigo. Descomposition of the bolivian exports: an analysis of elasticities. Revista de coyuntura y perspectiva [online]. 2022, vol.7, n.1, pp.4-32. ISSN 2415-0622. https://doi.org/1056274/ec.2022.v.7n1.1.
The document analyzes the Bolivian exports during the period 2000-2019. In order to do that, the variable is disaggregated in eighteen categories. Then, with panel data, it is estimated the pass-through effect between exchange rate and export prices, the price elasticity and the income elasticity. The results show that the pass-through, partial or complete, is given in fifteen categories. About the price elasticity, it is found that nine categories have elastic demand. Finally, it is found that eleven categories have a positive income elasticity. Based on all that information, it is concluded that the pass-through may help to the raise of the exports in volume, and to their diversification.
