PEREZ MARTINEZ, Armenio y RODRIGUEZ FERNANDEZ, Aimara. State and market in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic: between utilitarianism and liberalism. Revista de coyuntura y perspectiva [online]. 2021, vol.6, n.3, pp.53-76. ISSN 2415-0622.
Abstract The global health crisis caused by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has caused significant transformations in individual behavior, as well as in important structures created during the development of humanity, such as the State and the market. For this, ethical theories such as utilitarianism and liberalism are used, with a wide trajectory and acceptance in the academic context. The objective of this essay is to analyze some of the measures taken by States and the functioning of markets in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The qualitative paradigm was used for the selection and interpretation of scientific information, assuming a critical and constructive stance of knowledge. The research is theoretical and they are used from the theoretical level such as analysis, synthesis and theoretical contrast. The conclusions point out the need to maintain the analysis from the ethical philosophical theory to the measures to avoid the committing of excesses that affect individual human rights and the perpetuation of abusive government and market practices.
