Resumen
RIVERO LOBO, Blanca Zulema. Impact of food vulnerability on migration in Bolivia. Revista de coyuntura y perspectiva [online]. 2021, vol.6, n.2, pp.03-32. ISSN 2415-0622.
Abstract This document studies the incidence of vulnerability to food insecurity in migrant households, using data from the continuous household survey (ECH - 2018); representing around 11,195 households and the scale of food insecurity experience developed by FAO. A Probit econometric model was carried out that includes variables such as: the native language, ethnic origin and educational level. Discovering that, in Bolivia, migrant households are those that have revealed themselves as vulnerable in situations of food insecurity. The model shows that the probability of migrating increases by 24% if the household reports greater vulnerability to food insecurity, highlighting the fact that when observing marginal returns, vulnerability is the variable with the greatest weight.
