MORANCHEL-BUSTOS, Jorge Luis and CARBAJAL SUAREZ, Yolanda. Factors that determine the development of a territory. Revista de coyuntura y perspectiva [online]. 2019, vol.4, n.1, pp.90-124. ISSN 2415-0622.
Abstract. This article analyzes the determinants of the development of a territory, from the perspective of the postulates of the theory of local development, whose main hypothesis is that in the localities and territories a set of endogenous resources (natural and human) are presented, that using them efficiently results in economies of scale and favors reaching the development potential they represent. Therefore, it is argued the importance of the physical, social and economic characteristics of the territory, as well as the importance of its use by the local productive systems established in the locality. The objective of this work is to clearly analyze the characteristics that the territory and the local productive systems have in order to consolidate local development processes, based on a review of the literature available for this particular topic.
