ABSTRACT In this paper an analysis of the search and matching model of the Mexican labor market is performed, the model is estimated through a random process and aggregate national data, using the data recorded monthly in the National Employment Service as a basis to obtain the elasticities about number of vacancies and number of unemployed that were used as exogenous variables to the number of hirings. The search and matching function is estimated, which allows us to take heterogeneities and estimate the pairings by retaking the behavior of historical data, finding that the Mexican labor market shows constant returns to scale, which coincides with different previous studies for other countries.
