Abstract This paper analyzes the living conditions of indigenous women in "Altos de Chiapas", in front of the lack of recognition of their human rights, specifically, political rights and their exercise; therefore, we begin by analyzing the legal framework existing, both nationally and internationally and its lack of applicability in reality, emphasizing the absence of recognition of women's political rights in indigenous communities.
