Abstract This article is oriented to an analysis of the current constitutional and legal framework in Bolivia, with regard to the so-called strategic alliances of joint investment and their main characteristics, with the purpose of initiating the discussion regarding the application of public-private partnerships, an emerging category in administrative law for the financing and execution of projects of public interest. Similarly, the main characteristics of public-private partnerships are established and differentiated from other similar concepts in order to identify the feasibility of their application in Bolivia.
