Summary This work studies the exclusion of the mestizo as a reference of identity that builds citizenship in Bolivia. The originality of this study lies in demonstrating how an identity is excluded bythefeelingof racial belonging. The Miscegenation, for several centuries, was one of the references that united individuals without caring about inequalities. On the contrary, it used these inequalities to unite all those who identified themselves as mestizos.
