Abstract
HUERTAS DIAZ, Omar; CIELO LINARES, María and DIAZ GAMBOA, Luis Bernardo. The gulf clan characterization as an actor in the internal armed conflict in Colombia from the intensity factor. Rev. Jur. Der. [online]. 2016, vol.4, n.5, pp.37-52. ISSN 2413-2810.
This research aims to address legal issues that are generated around the characterization of equipped groups in armed conflict, as exemplified by the Gulf Clan and emphasizing the level of necessary intensity. Initially, there will be discussed elements which are required by international law in order to assess the status of the group in the internal armed conflict (intensity and organization). Furthermore, the Clan will be examined under the component of intensity, demonstrating how this requirement is satisfied through both; the group's actions and the State's response.
Keywords : Armed groups; internal armed conflict; Gulf Clan; International Humanitarian Law; intensity.
