The theme developed ¡n this essay ¡s the ¡nstitution of marriage, characteristic and causes of its dissolution, termination or divorce which gives rise to a series of legal effects, such as the right to succeed to the surviving spouse, freedom status to enter new conjugal unión, recognition of pregnancy to the widow, the exercise of parental rights of the spouse, termination of marital economic society and others. Doctrinal criteria and concepts that explain and describe the characteristics of marital dissolution, of free unions or indeed, divorce on the mutual consent, the remedy divorce, divorce sanction mixed divorce and characteristics are analyzed divorce action. Also, the national divorce laws for breach of the project of living together and by mutual agreement are described. History of divorce in Bolivia and the factors taken into account for the dissolution of marriage are also addressed. Thecreation of the independent Family Lawof the Civil Law ¡s importantto underscore. Other aspects are advancing in the new legislation the Code for Children and Adolescents, and the achievement of the New Constitution of the State, which in the Art. 65 provides for the affiliation of children at the direction of the father or the mother. They are subject to attention the enactment of the Code of the Family an d the Family Process and legislation the voluntary divorce administrative charge of notaries public faith
