Resumen

ESPEJO QUISPE, Félix. Recovery of abandoned soil ex cocal (Erythroxylum coca var. coca) by organic management of sábila (Aloe vera barbadensis M.), in Nor Yungas of Bolivia. RIIARn [online]. 2023, vol.10, n.3, pp.29-38. ISSN 2409-1618.  https://doi.org/10.53287/vsck1816ar39i.

Coca cultivation has acquired clear prominence in the Yungas region of La Paz, Bolivia, the problem arises from the coca monoculture system generating deforested, eroded soils, some abandoned, which causes pressure on the new natural forest areas (GreeningEUcooperation, 2020). The search for friendly soil recovery practices, through the use of alternative crops with an organic approach, is necessary. The work was carried out in Nor Yungas, municipality of Coroico, community of Incapampa in the department of La Paz, with the objective of investigating whether aloe vera with organic management adapts to abandoned and unproductive land and its impact on the recovery of the degraded area, in a demonstration plot. The data was obtained from qualitative research techniques, including interviews, plot tours, analysis through description and comparison of photographs in different procedures. As a result, using different agronomic practices with an organic approach in aloe vera, in eight years the abandoned ex-coca soil was recovered in the Municipality of Coroico, Incapampa, validated with analysis of Aloe samples in the laboratory, it should be noted that no pesticides were used.
