Abstract

MAYTA RIVEROS, Elizabeth  and  MANZANEDA DELGADO, Fernando. Agronomic behavior of ten varieties of Yuca (Manihot esculenta Crantz) in the Experimental Station of Sapecho - Alto Beni. RIIARn [online]. 2023, vol.10, n.2, pp.114-125. ISSN 2409-1618.  https://doi.org/10.53287/jokm8050ea90h.

The region has a diversity of soils and climates to produce cassava, which is why the varieties of the Agricultural Research Institute "El Vallecito" show higher yields than the traditional system of Alto Beni. Agricultural campaign 2019 - 2020 Sapecho Experimental Station, Department of La Paz, 410 masl, Latitude 15º39'27" S, Longitude 67º09'29" W; trial on the agronomic performance of ten cassava varieties. Statistical analysis, Completely Randomized Design, monofactorial, planting density 1 x 1 meters, 4 replications and 40 experimental units. The water requirement, according to Valdez and Hernandez (2014) is 700 to 1 500 mm well distributed; the area registered 1 606.4 mm; inferring that both factors did not affect crop development. The average emergence percentage was 98.64%. The greatest heights reached V2-Brasil 243.28 cm and V9-Señorita 239.75 cm; smaller V10-Amarilla criolla 184.9 cm and Huajarajeña 183.3 cm. The largest stem diameter V9-Señorita 3.78 cm and V3 smaller diameter 2.30 cm. The number of roots/plant, the varieties Rosadita, Señorita and Brasil stand out, with 14.25, 13.75 and 13.5; and Arrobera and Amarilla criolla with 7 and 5.75 roots/plant. Señorita had the longest root length 42.30 cm and Huajarajeña the shortest 15.25 cm. The highest weights were Señorita 2.89 and Brasil 2.55; the lowest weights were Arrobera 1.25 and Amarilla criolla 1.23 kg/plant. The yields obtained are higher than the world average. We have V9(Señorita) 29.28, V2(Brasil) 26.08, V8(Amarilla) 25.50, V1(Rosadita) 23, V4(Rama verde) 17.68, V7(Reina) 16.98, V3(Huajarajeña) 16.3, V5(Pelecho morado) 15.38, V6(Arrobera) 13.05 and V10(Amarilla criolla) with 12.3 t ha-1.
