The production of potatoes (Solanum tuberosum), quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd) and barley (Hordeum vulgare) is essential for the food security of families in the Central Altiplano region of Bolivia. However, weather events and market dynamics cause uncertainty in production: what to produce? How much? And when? It has an impact on the family productive system, making them less resilient. In this context, the objective of this study is to develop a productive planning proposal for the economic optimization of potato, quinoa and barley crops through linear programming. For this purpose, between the months of April and September 2022, secondary and first-hand information was collected through community workshops, participatory observation, and family surveys; in the areas: social, environmental and economic-productive. These surveys were carried out on six family case studies, representing the three types of existing families: formation, consolidation and restructuring. For economic optimization, the data was analyzed using the free software R version 4.1.2 (2021-11-01) was used as programming language, using the RStudio interface, lpSolve package and the lp function. The results showed different scenarios, depending on the family type, highlighting that potato production achieves the greatest economic benefits due to unsatisfied market demand, followed by quinoa and barley, which become emergency crops. With linear programming, economic information is available that maximizes economic income from 27 to 48 % depending on the type of family, subject to vary depending on social, economic and environmental circumstances.
