Abstract

After the Peace Agreement, signed in 2016 and in accordance with the dynamics of rural territories, the possibility of strengthening the capacities of the National Army was contemplated, based on educational actions associated with the agricultural sector, as a contribution to the rethinking of the Tasks of the armed forces in the post- agreement scenario. Train National Army personnel in formulating projects oriented to the agricultural sector to provide technical support, emphasizing the capabilities of the military forces in rural territories. With the question of how to improve institutional management in rural territories, a course was designed at the Tibaitatá Research Center of AGROSAVIA in Colombia, a blended modality that consisted of two phases, in the first of 16 hours, Basic concepts and tools of institutional work in the rural sector were contextualized in a general way. The second phase lasted 24 hours, where each student delved into one of the following five thematic axes: Beekeeping production, Animal welfare, Pasture and forage production in acid soils, Soil resources and Agricultural statistics. 1 678 active members of the Colombian National Army were trained in the five topics that are within the structure of the program. This process contributed elements to resignify the role of the military forces in rural territories, from the perspective of contributing to local development, from the application of knowledge derived from the emphasis raised in the training programs and with it, improve the military qualification process and the relationship in the Colombian agricultural sector, with support for institutional management from AGROSAVIA.
