Resumen

GUZMAN DUCHEN, Daniel  y  MONTERO TORRES, Julio. Interaction of bacteria and plants in nitrogen fixation. RIIARn [online]. 2021, vol.8, n.2, pp.87-101.  Epub 31-Ago-2021. ISSN 2409-1618.  https://doi.org/10.53287/uyxf4027gf99e.

The ecosystem is constituted by the interrelationships of biotic and abiotic factors, in which life is sustained. Leguminous plants and other plants live symbiotically with bacteria that proliferate in the soil and are capable of fixing atmospheric nitrogen (N₂), a vital element for plant nutrition. Bacteria of the genus Rhizobium and diazotroph bacteria have the ability to fix N₂ by converting it to a form assimilable by plants. Plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB) are important in different ecosystems where drought adversities, low fertility of arable soils and low yields are present. The distribution, identification and prediction of the functions of microbial diversity help to manage production and increase yields in agricultural crops. This review article studies biological nitrogen fixation through plant-bacteria interaction and symbiosis.
