Abstract

GUTIERREZ GONZALES, Eddy Diego; JIMENEZ VISCARRA, Gustavo  and  PENAFIEL RODRIGUEZ, Mario Wilfredo. Hematic and cardiac response in cut birds subject to food restriction and use of metaproterenol for the control of ascitic syndrome, in the La Paz foundation - Bolivia. RIIARn [online]. 2020, vol.7, n.2, pp.16-23. ISSN 2409-1618.

Abstract Due to its geographical location Bolivia; presents the ascitic syndrome with high mortality rates, the objective of the study was to evaluate the hematic and cardiac response of chickens subjected to food restriction and application of bronchodilatorforthe control of ascitic syndrome in both sexes. It was used 768 chickens BB (Ross Line 308), it was studied the sex effect, feeding restriction (T1=0, T2=2, T3=4 and T4=6 hours) and bronchodilator use (Metaproterenol) (T1 =0.000, T2=0.071; T3=0.107 and T4=0.143 ml.) being the control group T1. The work was divided into three periods: First (7 to 21 days), used DCA, with bi-factorial arrangements, sex and restriction with 24 chickens per EU. The second and third (22 to 49 days) included bronchodilator factor, treatments were divided to six birds per EU, total 126 units. For hematic variables, chickens were selected by sex and treatment at 20, 34 and 48 days, they were weighed and blood samples were taken and sacrificed for cardiac variables. Males showed greater response, in the studied variables; hematics evidences that daily feeding restriction elevates hematocrit levels in blood, where (T4) 6 hours of restriction (39% Ht). In relation to the right ventricular index and cardiac index, dietary restriction on (T4) decreases the growth of the right ventricle (19.07 %) weight 0.095 g in relation to the control (27.38 % and weight 0.115 g) in the initial stage (7 to 21 days). The favorable effect on hematocrit concentration with bronchodilator; the (T4) 0.143 ml from day 35, raises blood hematocrit levels day 49; with 41.3 % of Ht. The use of bronchodilator reduced cardiac hypertrophy with respect to the control, the best report was (T4) 0.143 ml, with 23.56 g; againstT1 with 3.24 g, at 34 days of age. Right ventricular growth was reduced in relation to the body index; (T4) with 0.143 ml, by 22.8 % in relation to the body index 0.078 g.
