Abstract Coffee (Coffea arabica L.), is currently one of the crops of economic importance in many countries of the world such as; Brazil, Vietnam, Colombia, Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras among others. Coffee production in the department of La Paz is a sector with high potential, but in recent years there was a decrease in production of 77.8% due to various factors such as; pest attack, poor institutional support, application of inappropriate technologies, low technical assistance, extension of coconut and inefficient training of producers. It is forthese reasons that the objective of the research was to evaluate the economic profitability of organic production in different years of pruning and coffee ages, in the Taipiplaya canton of the municipality of Caranavi (La Paz, Bolivia). The methodology consisted of the evaluation of the total production cost and the economic projection through the internal rate of return, net present value, and the cost-benefit ratio. The results show that total fixed costs per hectare were USD 869.50, higher on farms with first-year pruning than those in third yearwith USD 491.10, fifth yearwith USD 474.18 and seventh year with USD 453.21. However, the total variable costs per hectare were USD 294.12 lower in the case of pruning for the first year compared to the third year with 647.49 USD, fifth year with 791.78 USD and seventh year with USD 517,50. Making a comparison of renovation costs you have USD 2110.61 per planting and USD 1034.48 per recepa, with a difference of USD 1076.13 (50.98% less). In parallel, an economic projection was made for 10 years, where a net present value of 206.9 was taken; Cost benefit ratio of 1,004 and internal rate of return of 8.37%. The information allows an objective analysis of the organic production system with pruning (pillu)
