Abstract

CHIPANA MACHACA, Gonsalo  and  CALLE M., Braulio H.. Agronomic behavior of eight soybean varieties (Glycine max) in relation to three seeding densities, in Alto Beni-La Paz. RIIARn [online]. 2017, vol.4, n.2, pp.37-47. ISSN 2409-1618.

Soy is cultivated for its importance in human, animal and edible oil extraction. In Bolivia, soybeans are grown in the departments of Chuquisaca, Tarija, Beni and Santa Cruz with an average yield of 2210 kg ha-1. There are no agronomic recommendations or information on the varieties of soybean adapted to the Alto Beni region, this reason the objective of the research was to evaluate the agronomic behavior of eight soybean varieties introduced under three planting densities. The work was carried out in the Experimental Station of Sapecho, dependent of the Faculty of Agronomy of the Greater University of San Andres, the evaluated variables were height of the plant, height of insertion of the first pod, number of pods and grains by plant, days to flowering, days to physiological maturity and yield, under a design of Plots Divided into Random Blocks. The results show that the plant height was betterwith the a3 variety, higher height in the insertion of the first pod with the a5 variety, greater number of pods and grains per plant with the varieties a8 and a4, smaller days at flowering and physiological maturity with the variety a6, the yield is 1770 kg ha-1 for density b3, followed by density b2 with 1580 kg ha-1 and 1360 kg ha-1 for density b1. With the planting density 60 x 5 cm, a greater number of grains per plant was obtained with the varieties a1 and a2, as well as those that are among the varieties with the least days at flowering and physiological maturity, these varieties being recommended for obtain greater yield of 1770 kg ha-1 in a fewer number of days.

Keywords : Glycine max; plant density; pod; grains; yield.
