Abstract

JIMENEZ LIRA¹, Gabriela Katherine. Analysis of biogas combustion efficiency for domestic stove use in Bolivia. RIIARn [online]. 2016, vol.3, n.1, pp.94-102. ISSN 2409-1618.

Abstract A bio-digester is a source of improvement of the life quality of people in rural areas, since it generates biogas, avoiding the use of dung for cooking. The present research was postulated with the objective of evaluating the combustion efficiency of biogas in a Bolivian burner. The burning efficiency was determined by the comparison of the air passing to combustion, while the energetic efficiency was determined through the burning of it. The boiling test was realized according to the Bolivian Standards NB83001 (IBNORCA, 2012). Results suggest that the biogas is more combustion efficient than PLG underthe conditions of the traditional burner used. Additionally, the regulation of air in the burner, which is included in the stove, is insufficient to completely regulate the optimal combustion of the biogas. The energetic efficiency of the biogas burner is of 79 %.
