ABSTRACT The main objective of this research was to study the competitiveness of production system of mango crop in Porotoco, Plazuela, Siquiljira, Chacahuga, Pola y Cieneguillas communities which are part of Cantón La Plazuela in Irupana municipality from department of La Paz. The aim was propose strategies for improvement and sustainability in the medium term. The present study arose from information gathered to develop business plans with the Rural Alliances project. This research requested a diagnosis of the production system including a characterization that allowed a thorough analysis of system performance. It was made by using a no-experimental study design, obtaining primary information.
