Abstract

GARCIA, CARMIÑA. Historical-social perspectives of the health paradigm. Rev.Cs.Farm. y Bioq [online]. 2017, vol.5, n.2, pp.63-77. ISSN 2310-0265.

As health professionals we need to analyze in depth whatwe understand for health to develop research that benef its our society. A theoretical review of the different interpretive models of the health-disease process is carried out. The model based on social determinations in health surpasses the linear thinking of conventional epidemiology of seeking the cause, fragmenting reality and looking at phenomena without time, and incorporates as a methodological tool the critical epidemiology that recognizes the complexity of the health object in Different domains / orders and their contradictory character that gives movement, with historicity and determined by the social relations of reproduction. Health is developed in three domains: the domain of the general corresponds to the determination of the system of accumulation, the logic of the system of production, the policies and expressions of the state and the general processes of culture and epistemic constraints. The domain of the particular corresponds to the structural conditions of the constituent groups' lifestyles, with their typical patterns of exposure to processes harmful to collective health and their own patterns of vulnerability to such harmful processes. The singular domain expresses the determination of the lifestyles of people and their phenotypic and genotypic traits. We mustas personal in health break paradigms to understand health as a process, where the way of living of a community affects the collective and the individual and vice versa.
