Abstract This article is a review of the principles of thermodynamics using partial differen-tial calculus. Initially, a brief overview of the concepts and definitions of partial de-rivatives and some rules are made. Exact and inexact differential and next, it's de-fined the functions of state and the 1stand 2nd principles or laws of thermodynamics. The four Maxwell relations are deduced and some applications are presented. The facility to deduced mathematics expres-sions with partial derivatives is one of the most important resources of mathematics of thermodynamics. This are part of a useful tool; it's true that they can become com-plex, however we know and tell much more about a system with the help of this tools.
