Abstract

ORTUNO, Noel; MIRANDA, Claudia  and  CLAROS, Mayra. Selecting strains of Trichoderma spp. generating secondary metabolites of interest for use as a growth promoter in plants grown. J. Selva Andina Biosph. [online]. 2013, vol.1, n.1, pp.16-32. ISSN 2308-3867.

The Trichoderma-Trichoderma interaction of 35 strains was studied because of the fungal potential to synthesize Secondary Metabolites (MS), such as the 3-indoleacetic acid (IAA), by using dual confrontations in solid crop of potato-dextrose-agar (PDA) as a selecting method for forming strains of "defense barrier" between 0.5-0.7cm with an optimum width selection.  20 dual confrontations were identified.  These were replicated in liquid culture potato- dextrose broth (PDB) under constant stirring.  After 9 days of growth, the filtration was performed to separate the metabolites synthesized by the fungus mycelium formed. This substance of interest, containing the MS, was inoculated into two crops: Lactuca sativa and Raphanus sativus.  It was found that the best treatments for testing are the Lactuca sativa 3(BP-T0001-BPT0029), 4(BP-T0006-BPT0028),7(BP-T0007-BPT0024) confrontations and the individual crop I (BP-T0028) as the best inducer strains of growth and involving weight, length , root volume and leaf weight . For testing of Raphanus sativus, the best treatments are the confrontation 10 (BP-T0015 - BPT0025) and the individual K crop (BP-T0031) as inducers of root length, diameter and bulb weight. The individual G crop (BP-T0024) and the chemical fertilizer QUI, inducers of leaf weight and the confrontation 3(BP- T0001-BPT0029) as inducer of root weight. Therefore, the MS synthesized by Trichoderma spp. MS during dual confrontations act as Growth Promoters in Plants (PGP).

Keywords : Trichoderma spp; secondary metabolites; fungus plant growth promoter; dual confrontations; Lactuca sativa; Raphanus sativus.
