JIMENEZ, María A. et al. Evaluation of Trichoderma spp. and Acibenzolar-S-Methyl (Bion®) as resistance inducers in Garlic (Allium sativum L.) against white rot Sclerotium cepivorum Berk. under controlled conditions. J. Selva Andina Biosph. [online]. 2013, vol.1, n.1, pp.2-15. ISSN 2308-3867.

To evaluate the effect of Trichoderma koningiopsis and Bion® to induce systemic resistance to white rot caused by Sclerotium cepivorum in garlic, an experiment was set under controlled conditions using a randomized block design for a total of eight treatments with four replicates per treatment. Enzyme activities of peroxidases, polyphenol oxidases and β-1,3-glucanases and peroxidase isozyme expression were determined on leaf tissue . The results showed that changes in the protein fractions of treated plants indicated that the induced resistance was expressed both locally and systemically. Alternatives where elicitors were used in combination were able to induce the expression of enzymes peroxidases, polyphenol oxidases and glucanases at 5 and 9 pid revealing that these periods are crucial for the activation of defense mechanisms. The expression of the electrophoretic profiles showed that plant defensive response when the inductor is used biotic and abiotic was more intense and persisted for a longer time when compared with plants treated with the chemical one. Further research is required to determine whether the IR used can be overcome by other doses, compounds and application times and if such responses are influenced by the genotype of the host and / or environmental conditions.

Palavras-chave : Induced resistance; peroxidases; polyphenoloxidases; ß-1; 3-glucanases; PR proteins.
