This article aims to analyze research projections from a dictionary of Chilean idioms with 500 lexical units, establishing interdisciplinary approaches with social sciences, cognition and identity, highlighting an emphasis on the challenges presented by interculturality, due to processes of migration and the digital era. Three areas of projection are established: comparative analysis between the Diccionario de la Real Academia Española and repertoire of Chilean idioms; analysis of contact, exchange and dialect integration; identity, cultural and cognitive aspects. Current challenges demand identifying criteria for dialect exchange in the current digital and global context, in addition to recognizing how perceptual, sociocultural and cognitive aspects materialize in the emergence or not of certain lexical units.
