LETELIER, Bruna; SERRATE, Keidy e MENDOZA, Guillermo. Development and validation of the Social Network Effects Test (SNET). Rev. aportes de la comunicación [online]. 2024, n.37, pp.57-66. ISSN 2306-8671. https://doi.org/10.56992/a.v1i37.487.
The steady increase in the number of social media users and the time spent on these platforms has sparked significant research interest. However, the instruments currently available for such studies are predominantly aimed at diagnosing social media addiction. The primary objective of this article is to introduce a scale designed to measure social media use and its impact on daily life, with a particular focus on its relationship to self-image and social pressure, interference with daily activities, and dependency. A total of 205 students from the Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, aged between 18 and 25 years and of both sexes (138 females and 67 ma- les) participated in the study to develop the test. The Social Network Effects Test (SNET) is a test aimed at being a tool for identifying the use given to the RS and its effects, to take appropriate measures, such as regulation and orientation towards positive use and, therefore, Consequently, positive effects too. Based on the results obtained, it was found that the reliability and validity of the test is adequate for subsequent application to university students.
