Abstract This study looks for the physical remains of an almost los custom of the city: the placement of the "green crosses" in neighborhoods, and trys to record the popular street festivals that took place around them. Preserving the history, meanings and identities built within the cities contributes to their cultural heritage. In this sense, we to list the places related to the tradition of the cross that are still preserved in the city. The "Celebration of the Cross" has its origin in the tradition of the Catholic church, but it also has a direct relationship with the name of the city, the presence of the cross turns spaces into places of reference and of construction of a singular urban image, like a city brand, and in this way they create an identity of their own. This study seeks to identify these old places of identity and communal gathering, in order to intervene them with a current vision so that they recover their value, both as a public place, as a communal activity and as a reference point for the neighborhoods where they are located.
