Abstract

MATIENZO LOPEZ, Richard. Perceptions about the teaching of journalism ¡n Bolivia. Rev. aportes de la comunicación [online]. 2019, n.27, pp.31-42. ISSN 2306-8671.

Abstract The article deals with the perceptions and evaluations of journalists from the city of Sucre-Bolivia, of students and professors of the Social Communication career at the San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca University, about the teaching of journalism in Bolivia. The results indícate that the demand for a university degree is not indispensable, although this gives quality and guarantee to the work; that the press worker must have an integral, ethical and humanistic preparation, with a broad command of language, above all written; that the training is very theoretical and lacks sufficient practice to allow a better job performance; that the technological changes associated with journalism require the teaching of digital tools; that curricula and teaching strategies must be transformed in accordance with new job profiles; and that teachers must have theoretical and practical experience, broad motivation and commitment to their educational role.

Keywords : journalism; journalism teaching; training of communicators.
