CHAVEZ TURELLO, Albanella Luena. Research advance: Is gender violence the lens to understand the women's political participation in Bolivia?. Rev. aportes de la comunicación [online]. 2018, n.24, pp.21-32. ISSN 2306-8671.
Violence against women is a main element to understand social dynamics, due to the gap between the guarantee that laws imply and the statistics of violence that are extracted from reality. In this article we explore the role that violence has had in the relationship that normative bodies engage with women as social subjects, through global data on how it affects Bolivian women. We provide examples of what role women have played from political participation, in the questioning of the borders of the public and private spheres, as the latter is the scenario where gender violence manifests itself most forcefully.
