Violence against women is the product of a process historically built and based on patriarchy as a system for male domination. Diverse and complex elements make up the genealogy of this type of violence, which in present day societies tends to be addressed from the approach of the crime itself and its punishment. Working on prevention implies recognizing how this violence isproduced inorderto(dream of beingableto) eradicate it even if this entails long and slow processes precisely due to the structural transformation that would be required to reconfigure the symbolical, social and political order to validate women's humanity and recognize them as political subjects.
